Californians should not
eat pre-processed foods. We are the
world’s breadbasket. We have the most-productive
farmland in the world. Our farmers grow
a dizzying array of fruits, vegetables, and food animals. Californians should save money and support
our agricultural industry by eating fresh, healthy, California-grown food.
Amy’s Kitchen: Petaluma-based Amy's
makes frozen and canned options that are relatively healthy, and about as tasty
as not-fresh food can be.
Annie's: Berkeley-based Annie's makes a variety of organic, pre-packaged foods, including soups, canned foods, refrigerated dough, baking mixes, and frozen foods. Their Mac & Cheese is a guilty pleasure for many of my otherwise-strict farm-to-fork foodie friends.
